Black Shark has unveiled its new gaming smartphones in China. The Black Shark 5 and Black Shark 5 Pro are the company's new flagship smartphones. As expected, the two gaming smartphones have top-of-the-line hardware. The Pro model includes a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.

Both gaming smartphones have a touch sampling rate of 720Hz. On the back, the devices have a SharkEye RGB light effect. The phone is also available in 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB storage configurations, with prices starting at CNY 4699 (roughly Rs 56,100) and CNY 5499, respectively (roughly Rs 65,600). The vanilla model is available in 8GB + 128GB, 12GB + 128GB, and 12GB + 256GB storage configurations. It is available in three different colours: black, white, and grey.

Both smartphones have a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 1300 nits. The screen supports HDR10+, DC dimming, and a touch sampling rate of 720Hz. The devices also have a dual-zone pressure-sensitive display, which is similar to that of the iQOO 9 series. Both models support a refresh rate of up to 144Hz for gamers.

The Snapdragon 870 SoC powers the 5 Pro, while the Snapdragon 870 SoC powers the standard model. Both units include a vapour chamber cooling system. The thermal cooling coil on the Pro model is larger. The devices also include dedicated trigger buttons for a more immersive gaming experience.

The 5 Pro has a 108MP main camera, a 13MP ultrawide camera, and a 5MP telephoto camera on the back. The standard model comes with a 64MP main camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 13MP ultrawide sensor. The phones have a 16MP front camera for selfies and video calls/streaming.

The phones' batteries are 4650 cells with 120W fast charging support. They come pre-installed with Android 12-based JoyUI 13.
