Xiaomi's Redmi brand recently teased the Redmi A1's arrival in India. On September 6, the Redmi 11 Prime and Redmi 11 Prime 5G will be available in the country. The Redmi A1 will also make its India debut at the same event, according to the brand. Xiaomi made the formal announcement via social media channels. The company's teaser also reveals the design and overall appearance of the upcoming Redmi A1.

The MediaTek processor will power the Redmi A1.

According to the launch microsite, the Redmi A1 will be powered by a MediaTek processor. Xiaomi has not disclosed the exact processor specifications, but an earlier benchmark listing indicates that the device will be powered by a MediaTek Helio A22 processor. The launch microsite also reveals that the Redmi A1 will be available in three colours: Green, Blue, and Black. All three variants appear to be finished in chic leather.

Xiaomi has also confirmed that the Redmi A1 will include a 5000mAh battery. The smartphone is confirmed to offer a dual-rear camera setup around on with dual-tone LED flash. The Redmi A1 will have a waterdrop notch display and will only support HD+ resolution.

Like other Xiaomi devices, the Redmi A1 will have a power button and volume rockers along the right edge. The absence of a fingerprint scanner in the images on the launch microsite suggests that the device will not include one. Xiaomi is also expected to launch the Redmi A1 Plus, which will include a fingerprint scanner, though it is unclear whether the Redmi A1 Plus will be available in India.
