Samsung Galaxy Phones

In recent years, Samsung has been one of the best OEMs at delivering Android and security updates to its phones on time. In recent months, the company has updated a number of its phones to One UI 4 based on Android 12 in the Galaxy S, Galaxy M, and Galaxy A series.

Samsung began rolling out One UI 4.1 software for the Galaxy S22 series in early 2022. Since then, the update has been rolled out to other Galaxy devices as well. According to a new report, the next iterative update, One UI 4.1.1, will be released later this year. More information about this upcoming software version is also expected later this year.

One UI 4.1.1 Confirmed to Arrive Later This Year

A GoodLock moderator on the Samsung Community site in South Korea foretold the next iteration (via TizenHelp). The moderator was responding to a question from a user who was having problems with the Wonderland module. The moderator responded to the users' question by saying, "The error reported by the customer requires a lot of platform-level code correction and is reflected on One UI 4.1.1 version."

He also stated that v 4.1.1 will take some time to reach customers, but once it does, it should resolve the issues. According to the report, the One UI 4.1.1 update may be released alongside the next-generation foldable, which is expected to be released in August of this year. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 are expected to be unveiled at the Unpacked event in August, along with the Galaxy Watch 5 series.

Last year, Samsung announced a single UI 3.1.1 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 devices, which was later rolled out to Samsung Galaxy tablets. We can expect a few new features on top of the existing One UI 4.1 for foldable and large screen devices with One UI 4.1.1. The moderator's issues are also expected to be resolved with the update. Based on previous experience, version 4.1.1 will be based on Android 12, and One UI 5.0 will most likely be based on Android 13.
