Sony India has introduced the Sony WH-XB910N over-the-ear wireless headphones. Sony claims that the full-size headphones feature enhanced digital noise cancellation technology, which uses two noise sensors in tandem to provide a better overall noise cancellation experience. The same can be tweaked or configured to personal preference using Sony's Headphones Connect mobile app, which is available for both iOS and Android smartphones.

Sony WH-XB910N: Key Features

The headphones are powered by 40mm drivers, according to the specifications. The headphones provide a frequency response of 20Hz to 40,000Hz via LDAC and come with a 1.2m audio cable for wired connectivity. You also get 48-ohm impedance and 96dB/nW sensitivity.

The 'XB' moniker, according to Sony India's nomenclature, denotes a headphone from the company's Extra Bass lineup. Naturally, the audio signature of these headphones would emphasize low frequencies even more than the company's usual warm sound signature. With the Sony WH-XB910N, Sony advertises a clear focus on bass, demonstrating a 'club-like' bass-driven music experience.

In terms of standard Sony audio enhancements, the Sony WH-XB910N includes a digital sound enhancement Engine (DSEE), which uses software to upscale audio that users stream through their smartphones. According to Sony, this is combined with Adaptive Sound Control, which is an automatic usage and behavioral pattern learning mode that allows the headphones to automatically select the best audio balance and noise cancellation levels in it.

Sony also offers 360 Reality Audio, which appears to offer spatial audio distribution via headphones. However, it is important to note that Sony's spatial audio feature is still incompatible with the majority of mainstream apps and thus has limited utility. The headphones have a 30-hour music playback time and the company's 'Precise Voice Pickup Technology,' which reduces background noise while on voice calls.

Price and availability

The Sony WH-XB910N wireless over-ear headphones are priced at Rs 14,990 in India and are available today, February 28th, at all Sony online and offline retailers.
