The Korean thriller Squid Game was a surprise hit for Netflix when it launched in 2021. Everyone was surprised when it became the most popular Netflix series ever released. It had 1.65 billion hours watched in the first 28 days of release, surpassing Bridgerton Season 2's 656 million hours viewed.

And now, the popular series' creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, has confirmed that season 2 is in the works and will be available on Netflix. Aside from that, a new teaser has been released, hinting at the arrival of Season 2.

Hwang Dong-message hyuk's confirms Gi-return hun's as the Front Man, as well as the return of "the man in the suit with ddakji." He also confirms that Young-boyfriend, hee's Cheol-su, will appear in the next season.

Following the successful release of the first season of the show last year, Hwang confirmed that he is currently in the 'planning phase' for the second season. Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos confirmed that "the Squid Game universe has just begun," implying that more episodes of the show would be released.

There is no clear official timeline for when season 2 of Squid Game will be launched, but according to an interview Hwang gave to Vanity Fair, the next season could be available at the end of 2023 or early 2024. And it will reportedly come with even more stomach-churning games.
