Asus India surprised everyone last week when it announced the launch date for the Asus 8Z, last year's flagship phone in India. The much-anticipated phone was finally released in India today.

For those who are unaware, the Asus 8Z is the Zenfone 8, which was released globally in June 2021. The phone's compact design and relatively small display were two of the features that drew everyone's attention at the launch. Let's look at the specifications, cost, and availability.

The Asus 8Z features a 5.9-inch super AMOLED display with a 120Hz screen refresh rate, HDR playback, and 1,100nits of peak brightness, which is one of the device's most important features. On the front, there is also Gorilla Glass Victus to protect the screen from scratches.

The handset is powered by a Snapdragon 888 flagship processor with a clock speed of up to 2.84GHz and an Adreno 660 GPU. The phone will come with 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. In India, it also supports multiple 5G network bands.

In terms of optics, the main camera is a 64MP Sony IMX686 with an f/1.8 aperture, PFAF, and OIS. Following that is a 12MP Sony IMX363 lens.
