Google Pixel Fold: New Design Renders Surface Online
The Google Pixel Fold will be the company's first foldable smartphone, competing with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. OnLeaks has revealed some additional details in his latest leak that were missing in Jon Prosser's previous leak. To begin, the latest leak reveals the Pixel Fold's display size and overall dimensions. According to the tip, the Pixel Fold's inner display will be 7.69 inches diagonally tall. There will be bezels at the top and bottom. One of the two front cameras is housed on the right side of the top bezel.
The second front camera is housed in the cover display's hole-punch cutout. According to OnLeaks, the outer display will be 5.79 inches tall. As there are antenna lines running along the chassis, the frame is made of metal.
A Pixel 7 Pro-like camera sensor layout is also visible. The Pixel Fold has a back visor, but it is not end-to-end like the Pixel 7 series. A triple-camera setup with an LED flash is housed in the protruding camera module. A microphone cutout is also located beneath the LED flash module.
The foldable phone's bottom edge houses the USB Type-C port, a speaker grille, and a couple of tiny cutouts, possibly for microphones. The top edge appears to have cutouts for the secondary speaker as well. The power and volume buttons are located on the right edge.
According to OnLeaks, the Pixel Fold will be 158.7 x 139.7 x 5.7mm in size, which is quite small. If you include the camera bump, the device measures 8.3mm.
The device is expected to be available in two colours: Chalk and Obsidian. Previous rumours indicate that the phone will include a 9.5MP front-facing camera for the foldable display and the outer screen. The rear camera configuration is unknown.
On Geekbench, we recently discovered a Google smartphone codenamed Felix, which could be the upcoming Pixel Fold. Geekbench listed it as having the Google Tensor G2 SoC and 12GB of RAM. The listing also revealed that the Google phone came pre-installed with Android 13.
The Pixel Fold is expected to go on sale in the United States for $1799 USD. It is expected to debut at Google I/O 2023, which could take place in May 2023. What do you think about the Pixel Fold? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below.
