OPPO has launched the A17 series, a successor to its previously launched A16 series, for those looking to purchase a new low-cost phone. It has a 5000mAh battery, a 50MP dual-rear camera setup, and IPX4 splash resistance, which ensures that it does not stop working when exposed to light rain.
While the smartphone is currently only available in Malaysia, we can expect OPPO to bring it to India soon. In the meantime, let's take a quick look at its features and specifications.
OPPO A17 Price and Availability
In Malaysia, the phone costs RM599 (roughly Rs 10,629) for the model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM. Customers can purchase it at any My OPPO Space, OPPO Brand Store, OPPO Official Online Store, OPPO Authorized Dealers, OPPO Authorised Online Store, or Chain Store Partners location. They can also purchase it from e-commerce platforms such as Shopee and Lazada.

The newly released OPPO A17 features a 5.3-inch display with a 100% DCI-P3 high-color gamut, which is combined with the intelligence of dimming to provide a smooth colorful display that does not harm your eyes. The device also has a water drop notch to make room for the selfie camera sensor.
The smartphone has a stylish appearance and a newly designed one-piece faux leather that gives it a premium feel. The handsets will be available in two color options: midnight black and lake blue.
In terms of cameras, the OPPO A17 comes with a dual-camera setup at the back, located in the top-left corner. The camera module includes a 50MP primary camera and an unspecified secondary camera (at the time of writing). The handset has a 5-megapixel selfie camera sensor on the front, which sits beneath the water drop notch. It has a 5000mAh battery and the company claims that it can power the device for an entire day. The device has 4GB of RAM and a RAM expansion feature. This feature allows the device to add up to 4GB of RAM by making use of its 64GB of internal storage.
On the software front, the phone runs Android 12 on top of ColorOS 12.1. It also has IPX4 water resistance and USB-C support for fast charging.
